Standard requirements are set for renting autos across the UAE. The pack of required documents depends on your citizenship. For the residents of the UAE, it is enough to have a valid driving license and an ID card. Stricter requirements are set for non-residents. They should provide a home-country driving license, a passport with a valid visa, and an (International Driving Permit) at a rental agency.
Be ready to leave a security deposit of about AED 5,000 for booking a car. The security deposit is left for the entire rental period and is refunded once the vehicle is returned.
Finally, keep in mind that people are allowed to drive autos in the UAE only when they are 21 years old. Thus, even if you’re under 21 but you’re allowed to drive vehicles in your native country, you won’t be able to do this in Dubai.

All fees are excluded from the agreements. Thus, the renter is responsible for all costs associated with the auto during the rental period. These are Salik fees, parking charges, fueling, and fines. When giving the auto back, the level of fuel should be the same as when the car was handed.
Salik fees usually take much trouble since most roads are paid in Dubai. So, be ready to link your bank card with a positive balance to pay for fees promptly.

Note that the list of required documents differs, depending on the client’s citizenship. Residents of the UAE need just an ID card and a valid driving license. Non-residents from foreign countries should have a wider pack of documents, namely, a passport/ID card with a valid visa, a home-country driving license, and an (International Driving Permit).
Also, note that leaving a security deposit is a common practice for rental agencies. Thus, be ready to have about AED 5,000 to be left as a security deposit.
The last requirement is to be of legal age since the UAE sets 21 as the minimum age for driving. Thus, even if you are legal to drive vehicles under 21 in your native state, in Dubai, you have the right to drive only once you’re 21.
What services do I get as part of the rental agreement?
What accidents does standard insurance cover?
What should I know about the mileage limit?
Should I pay something additionally?
Yes, surely. First of all, fuel is not included. You should fuel a tank throughout the rental period and get the car back with the same level of fuel.
Besides, most Dubai’s highways and local roads are paid. Thus, be ready to pay Salik fees. Link your phone or bank card to the system for charges to be credited automatically.
As for parking, there are both free and paid parking lots. But, most free parking places belong to restaurants and hotels, meaning that they are designed for visitors only. Thus, most raking zones are also paid.
Finally, if you break road rules, be ready to pay fines.

Is a mileage limit set for rented cars? Can I exceed it?
A mileage limit is a standard parameter set in a rental agreement. The indicator implies the maximum distance that the renter can go on the vehicle. Yet, it doesn’t mean that you can’t exceed it. The indicator is flexible and conditional. If you drive more kilometers than is set in your agreement, extra charges will be incurred. When the auto is handed back, the cost will be recalculated, and the renter will have to pay the difference. Thus, if you want to drive a lot, be ready to pay the bill at the end of the rental period.
For example, when renting the vehicle, the renter can go 250 km per day. If he exceeds the mileage limit, an extra charge of AED 30 is applied.
What is the fuel policy provided by the rental agency?
When renting autos in Diadal, clients get cars with a standard amount of fuel. This amount should be enough to drive to the nearest fuel station. Fueling the rented vehicle during the rental period is the responsibility of the driver; thus, it is paid separately. When the vehicle is handed back, the amount of fuel should correspond to the initial level.
Note that besides fuel, the driver is responsible for all sorts of damage connected to improper fueling. Thus, if some parts go wrong due to feeding cars with improper fuel, be ready to cover the cost of recovery.
